Egypt:

Cairo Experimental Theatre Festival is scheduled to take place in Egypt from September 1st  to September 10th.

El Warsha Theatre Group will present their new play “Bullet in the Heart”. Performances will be held in Cairo from September 19th to September 29th ,2002 (except September 24) at Talia Theatre, and in Alexandria on 3rd and 4th of October at the Garage theatre.

An African Arab Music workshop will be held in Alexandria from October 3rd to October 10th in collaboration between the Dhow Countries Music Academy, Zanzibar, Al Urmawi Centre for Mashreq Music, Palestine and Quitharah Music Group, Egypt. The workshop will be followed by concerts in Alexandria at the Garage Theatre on October 10th and in Cairo on October 12th at the Townhouse gallery.

 

Mozambique:

Festival International de Teatro D’Agostos was held in Maputo from August 22nd  to August 31st ,2002.

Abdo Nawar from Shams, Lebanon has attended the festival as an observer.

Rwanda:

FESPAD (Festival Panafrican de La Danse) is scheduled to take place in Rwanda from September 1st to September 9th, 2002.

South Africa:

Awesome Africa Music Festival is scheduled to take place in Durban on September 28th & 29th.

 On the occasion of Awesome Festival, OCRE Conference will be held in Durban from September 23rd to September 27th. A first for South Africa, held by the African Cultural Fraternity for the development of Africa’s culture. Co-hosted by the University of Natal’s Centre for Creative Arts and OCRE (Operateurs Culturels en Reseaux /Afrique en Creation/Association Francaise d’action Artistique). Delegates from cultural organizations across Africa will focus on issues and strategies to promote and stimulate international and Pan-African linkages. Local community based specialists will be invited.

Jean Francois Belleface will attend the above conference. He is also trying to make arrangements for Tarek Abou El Fetouh and Joy Mboya to attend as representatives of our Cairo Group.
